Lex-Icon Blog Project Post 22: Margo Berdeshevsky

"PASSAGE PASSAGE PASSAGE 2"  (c) Margo Berdeshevsky

"I often work with text and image and the hard and soft marriages between them, & the metaphoric bleed-throughs. Visual and verbal are dominant or subtle for me at different times. Often. But not always. Sometimes I like complex. Sometimes, I like stark & hard-edged. This  montage, "PASSAGE PASSAGE PASSAGE 2," includes graffiti, collage, & words by Zola; and if my publisher had been able to include this image, it would have been in my newest book, "Between Soul & Stone." ( appears here! My works do often join image constructed in multiple layers & cuts & overlays, and intend to be read in several directions, vertical, horizontal, etc., always furthering my notion of collage as an ongoing conversation between an author and her own works. If the format here permitted, I might have included an audio track of my reading of a poem from the book; I love cross-genre, in its many forms. Next time!" -- Margo Berdeshevsky
